It’s been a good first day on the job. Getting back at Berkeley has reminded me how much walking is required in transportation so these past two days have been a rude awakening towards that. No more car to drive me around. My feet hurt and won’t stop hurting but it’ll get better, it always does. Damn summer.. making me lazy.
But, I met my kids today. They all have authentic Chinese names so I can’t say any of them. Thankfully, 5 of the 6 all decided to take on English names but one of them didn’t and OF COURSE, his name is Pu something and I sound ridiculous saying it. Literally, all the others laugh when I attempted his name… for the third time. Oh well, 11 more days with these kids! Just dinner tonight and then “free time” where I’m supposed to be friendly and social with them but I have a summer class that needs to be tackled and raped so I have my priorities straight.
Oh, and the clear highlight of the day: I had 6 Chinese kids try frozen yogurt for the first time.. ever.. in their lives. Yup, success. I deserve a medal from the President.
